Hard Pregnancy

Well folks, we are finally winding down, and hopefully this pregnancy is almost over!  Daniel says I say this every time, but I truly feel like this pregnancy has been the hardest yet!  I won't bore you with the gruesome details... it's the same as every pregnant lady I'm sure.  And I know that I have it a lot easier than a lot of women, but man!  Everything just seems to be a little bit harder this go around.  And that even includes the fun things.... such as picking a name.

My kids were so incredibly easy to name.  Logan always likes to say he came with a name.  Which is sort of true, really.  We had Logan Carl picked out long, LONG before he was born.  Logan is for so many reasons including Daniel's favorite mission companion, the city that we met in, Daniel's favorite X-Man, my favorite volleyball player, and others.  Carl is my dad.  It flows, it fits, we have always loved it, and it's true.  Logan came with a name.

I shared the story behind Reagan's name here and here.  Once again, Reagan Brooke sort of came with a name.  Named after President Reagan as an ode to our time in Washington DC, and my Grandmother, Reagan was super easy to name.  We agreed, and it was done.

Enter baby number three.  I was completely, completely convinced this baby was a BOY.  Daniel and I talked and talked and discussed and discussed and argued and disagreed about boy names for months.  I'm convinced that if this baby were a boy, we STILL wouldn't have a name for him.  We might leave the hospital without a name for him.  Heck, he might even go to kindergarten without a name.  That's how much we could not agree.

Luckily, this baby is a girl.  When we found out we were expecting a little Miss, I felt like we would be able to think of a girl name NO PROBLEM.  I mean, there were so many that I liked!  Turns out I was wrong.  Again, we went back and forth and back and forth and could not come to a consensus.  At one point we even had a name and then we changed it, and then we changed it again, and on and on it went.  Finally, with a little bit of divine intervention and some MAJOR compromise.... I think we have converged on the perfect name for this little girl.  So now, she too, will come with a name.

But before that glorious day happened, we were so desperate.... we turned to an unlikely place for help:  Our kids. And oh, how they stepped up to the plate!  Their imaginations never disappoint.

Without further ado, Logan's suggestions.  Followed by Reagan's suggestions.

  1. I think Darth Vader might be a name we can all get behind. ;-) Maybe Yoda Darth or Darth Yoda so she can decide if she wants to embrace the dark side or the light side. I can see Logan's a thinker. How much easier would it be if all your sisters were named Reagan. You'd only have to remember one name and when you were blaming someone, you could just say, "Reagan did it."
