Example:
Me: (in my most upbeat, happy, supportive voice) "Logan, it's time for lunch! Let's get you in your chair! I'll let you pick, what would you like to eat?"
Logan: "AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Me not wanna do that, Mommy!!!!!!" Proceeds to throw himself on the floor and cry.
Just imagine his reaction when I tell him he can't watch the cows episode of Paw Patrol for the fourth time in a row.
Yeah. Two. Definitely two.
Anyway, in the midst of the ticking time bomb that is Logan, I realized that this week was the first full week after Reagan turned three months old. This is the week my maternity leave would have been up and I'd have been going back to work, if I was still in the traditional work force.
That helped to put everything in perspective for me.
Yes, this is hard work. This is often thankless, dull, frustrating, dirty, tiring, hard work.
But I wouldn't have it any other way!
If I'd had been at work last week, yes, I would have missed the tantrums. But I would have missed all that is my Logan. Everything I've come to love about him and taking care of him.
Like how he has asked for green pancakes for breakfast everyday since St. Patricks Day.
Or how he is becoming quite the master builder....and destroyer!
And a jump rope?
And I will never get tired of watching Logan climb and explore at gymnastics class.
Now let's not forget about this sweet face:
And her amazing cuddles:
And the joy that is, painting your daughters toes for the first time!
Oh and seeing my two littles together.... Well there's really nothing better than that!
The life of a stay at home mom is not for everyone, and definitely comes with its ups and downs. But this is the life I have chosen and this is the life that I want.
Tantrums and all!
